Lesung "Die Würde des Menschen ist abschiebbar"

Das Land NRW plant in Düsseldorf gerade ein weiteres Abschiebegefängnis, um in direkter Nähe des Flughafens Menschen "effizienter" abschieben zu können. Bisher wird darüber kaum öffentlich diskutiert oder die inhumane Abschiebepolitik des Landes NRW in Frage gestellt.
Als Teil des Bündnisses ‚Abschiebegefängnis verhindern – in Düsseldorf und überall‘ wollen wir das jedoch nicht einfach so hinnehmen. Wir stellen uns gegen die aktuelle autoritäre und repressive Abschiebungspolitik in NRW und bundesweit. Es soll kein weiteres Abschiebegefängnis geben! Im Gegenteil: Abschiebehaft muss abgeschafft werden!

Aber was verbirgt sich eigentlich hinter dem Begriff Abschiebehaft und welche Erfahrungen machen die dort inhaftierten Menschen? Das Buch „Die Würde des Menschen ist abschiebbar“ von den Autor*innen Lina Droste, Oumar Mamabarkindo, Sebastian Nitschke sowie der Community for all ermöglicht einen Blick hinter die Gefängnismauern. Es vereint politischen Bericht und Wissenschaft. Im Rahmen des politischen Aktivismus der Autor*innen gegen die Abschiebegefängnisse in Büren und Darmstadt sind Texte zu Haftbedingungen, Gerichtsakten, Isolationshaft sowie Erfahrungsberichte, Portraits und Gespräche mit Inhaftierten über ihre Ausschlusserfahrungen in Deutschland und ihren Herkunftsländern, entstanden.
Eingeleitet wird das Buch mit einer historischen Einordnung der Institution Abschiebehaft und dem aktuellen rechtlichen Rahmen. Somit dient es auch als eine Einführung in die Thematik Abschiebehaft. Es gibt Antworten auf die Fragen: Was ist und war Abschiebehaft? Wer ist davon betroffen? Wie verläuft der institutionelle Prozess der Abschiebehaft? Im Anschluss an die Lesung wollen wir gemeinsam über Perspektiven solidarischen Handelns diskutieren.

Die Lesung aus dem Buch „Die Würde des Menschen ist abschiebbar“ findet am 10.05.2022 um 19 Uhr in der Alten Feuerwache in Köln im kleinen Forum statt. Bitte tragt während der Veranstatlung eine Maske und testet euch, wenn möglich vorher.

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is currently planning another deportation prison in Düsseldorf in order to be able to deport people "more efficiently" in the immediate vicinity of the airport. So far, there is hardly any public discussion about this or questioning of the inhumane deportation policy of the state NRW. As part of the alliance 'Prevent deportation prison - in Düsseldorf and everywhere', however, we do not want to simply accept this. We oppose the current authoritarian and repressive deportation policy in NRW and nationwide. There should not be another deportation prison! On the contrary: detention pending deportation must be abolished!
But what is actually behind the term deportation detention and what are the experiences of the people detained there? The book "Die Würde des Menschen ist abschiebbar" (Human Dignity is Deportable) by the authors Lina Droste, Oumar Mamabarkindo, Sebastian Nitschke and the Community for all provides a look behind the prison walls. It combines political report and science. In the context of the political activism of the authors against the deportation prisons in Büren and Darmstadt, texts on prison conditions, court files, solitary confinement, as well as field reports, portraits and conversations with detainees about their experiences of exclusion in Germany and their countries of origin, were created.
The book begins with a historical classification of the institution of detention pending deportation and the current legal framework. Thus, it also serves as an introduction to the topic of detention pending deportation. It provides answers to the questions: What is and was detention pending deportation? Who is affected by it? What is the institutional process of detention pending deportation? After the reading we want to discuss together about perspectives of solidary action.
