Film + Talk: Moria Six
Würzburg
16.03.2026 20:00 UhrCentral im Bürgerbräu, Frankfurter Straße 87After the fire that completely destroyed the Moria refugee camp on Lesbos in September 2020, a depressing silence descended - both on site and in public discourse.
The inhumane conditions in other camps at Europe's external borders and the numerous pushbacks in the Mediterranean hardly came to the public's attention.
The arrest of six young people accused of arson also barely caused a stir. However, the circumstances of the investigation and the subsequent criminal proceedings already raise questions about the approach of the Greek justice system.
However, it is not only the trial but also the EU's refugee policy that is repeatedly coming under scrutiny - without receiving the attention that these issues deserve.
Following the film, director Jennifer Mallmann will talk about the making of the film, her research on location and the current situation of those affected.
An event organized by Würzburg Solidarisch e.V. and Seebrücke Wüzburg, in cooperation with Central im Bürgerbräu.
