Information event: Deportation prison in Volkstedt

Saxony-Anhalt is building a new deportation prison in Volkstedt near Eisleben - right next to the Volkstedt prison and on the site of a former Nazi forced labor camp. Construction has been underway since October 2024 and the opening is planned for the end of 2027. The prison represents a further step towards further systematizing deportations and further disenfranchising people on the move!

Further deportation prisons are also planned in Thuringia, Saxony and Brandenburg. At the same time, a nationwide coordinating detention center is being prepared to further expand deportations.

At the event, the initiative Fight Deportation Jail LSA will present its research and assessments of the planned deportation prison.
