The federal government is currently rolling back integration policy infrastructure. After family reunification, admission programs and rejections at the borders, integration courses are now facing massive cuts.
Almost 44% of integration course approvals were recently based on BAMF approval. It is precisely these approvals that have now been canceled - almost every second course participation is thus eliminated, which means over 120,000 canceled participations for 2026.
This means that
Prospects for those seeking protection to stay and participate are being deliberately destroyed
Providers are being forced into insolvency
Teachers are losing their livelihoods
Municipalities lose their central integration tool
This is fatal in terms of integration policy. It is absurd in terms of labor market policy. And it is economically irrational.
The argument that only those with prospects of staying should be admitted to a course is cynical. The reality is that language is often what creates prospects of staying. Those who cannot speak the language fail to obtain the right to stay, training and employment. It is precisely these prospects that are apparently to be prevented.
This is not an objective reform. This is ideologically motivated integration prevention policy.
Even the inhumane GEAS reform provides for access to language courses under European law - regardless of any alleged prospects of staying. And applicable law cannot be overridden by political listlessness or pathetic pandering to right-wing anti-migration rhetoric.
The coalition agreement promises integration from the outset.
What is happening here is the opposite. We call on the federal SPD to clearly reject these Dobrindt plans.
And we call on the state government of Schleswig-Holstein to take an unequivocal stand against this integration policy madness.
We say: access instead of blockade.
Come to the demonstration and join us in setting an example for language access, participation and a rational integration policy.
