We are calling for a rally: Legal, illegal - Dobrindt doesn't give a damn! For the individual right to asylum for all people!

The CDU/CSU has shown in recent weeks that it remains true to its right-wing leaning line: Under pressure from far-right parties calling for anti-human policies, conservative parties are not only turning their backs on the measures demanded, but also on principles of the rule of law. Legal, illegal, don't give a damn now seems to be the motto of the CDU/CSU when refugees are simply turned away at the German border, even though they have a fundamental right to individual asylum, as the Berlin Administrative Court has confirmed. Interior Minister Dobrindt (CSU) explains that court decisions can be ignored in principle because they concern individual cases. The executive is thus disregarding the principle of the separation of powers, which is constitutive of liberal democracy.

This is extremely dangerous for everyone, even for those who think they are not affected. Restricting the right to asylum and ignoring court decisions ultimately calls into question the rule of law in general.

We will not stand idly by while authorities and governments break the law with their eyes open! We will not stand by and watch racism determine politics!

We demand:

• An end to the racist symbolic policy of unlawful rejections at the borders!

• The resignation of Dobrindt as Minister of the Interior for a clear breach of the law!

• Open borders and freedom of movement for all people!
