Demo: United for climate and justice

The world is on fire. Wars, famines and the climate catastrophe are claiming lives. Fueled by politics and the fossil fuel lobby, which prefer to invest billions in weapons and securing fossil fuel profits rather than in peace and climate protection. The victims are the civilian population - especially women* and children - and not least the climate itself. Climate change exacerbates every crisis: heat, droughts and floods destroy livelihoods and drive millions to flee their homes. In this country, we are confronted with floods and heatwaves, while the rich can sit in air-conditioned houses or take refuge in second homes to cushion the impact.

People in other countries are already struggling with temperatures of over 50°C. Where it becomes too hot to grow food, new famines are looming. Glaciers are disappearing, summers alternate between two extremes: Drought and continuous rain. And the German government's response? New gas-fired power plants - including in Karlsruhe. This makes us dependent on fossil fuel imports, produces many times more CO than wind power, and we are also paying for it. This is where we draw the red line: no further expansion of the fossil fuel industry and its profiteering!

Climate justice means that all people have the same right to a good life - regardless of where they were born or how much money they have. That is why we are taking to the streets: for climate justice, for solidarity with the Global South - and together with thousands of protesters around the world. For our future, for all of us.

We, an alliance of Karlsruhe groups for a better world, invite you: Come to Lidellplatz on Saturday, 20.09.25, at 2 pm! From there we will set off together and then celebrate a street festival full of encounters, music and energy. We are many. We are loud. We are strong. United we stand up for climate and justice!
