Sweep the frats into the Neckar! Feminist and anti-fascist on May 1st - call for the eve demo

Fraternities and other student fraternities repeatedly attract attention through attacks against Jews, racialized people, FLINTA*s and queers. These attacks are not surprisingly isolated cases in the corporate world, but a regular expression of the ideology of reactionary male fraternities. In Heidelberg, the eve of May Day was marked for years by a torchlight march by the corporations, during which right-wing songs were sung and racist attacks were carried out on a massive scale - until the Autonomous Antifa Heidelberg fought back the brown hustle and bustle in 1997. Since then, we have been filling the public space with left-wing content on the evening of April 30. As in previous years, we will take to the streets again in 2026 and keep Heidelberg free from violence with a feminist and anti-fascist eve demo!

The student fraternities cling to centuries-old structures of patriarchy. We will make it clear on Walpurgis Night that we will smash them. Because we are the grandchildren of the witches who couldn't burn them! Sweep the bastards into the Neckar!

In 2020, there was a brutal anti-Semitic attack on the house of the Normannia fraternity, in which the corporates beat up a guest with Jewish ancestors with belts and threw money at him. Six years later, the far-right fraternity is trying to regroup. But we will go to their house and make it clear: There will be no new chapter of the Nazi fraternity in Heidelberg!

The demonstration will start on April 30, 2026 at 7 pm with a kick-off rally at the Heidelberg City Library. Afterwards there will be vegan Küfa at Café Gegendruck. Feminist and anti-fascist into May 1st!
