Demo for an asylum policy built on solidarity
Erfurt
31.01.2026 13:00 UhrErfurt main station, Willy-Brandt-Platz 12CALL FOR PROTEST ON 31 JANUARY 2026 IN ERFURT
TOGETHER FOR A ASYLUM POLICY BUILT ON SOLIDARITY!
NO to the discriminatory payment card!
NO to detention and deportation!
NO to exclusion from social security and compulsory labour!
Refugees are being controlled, marginalised and deprived of their rights. We refuse to accept this.
The right to asylum in Europe is being further eroded: camps at external borders, sped-up asylum procedures, people seeking protection being brutally pushed back at borders and deported en masse. People on the move are treated as numbers and labelled as a threat.
The policy of exclusion and deterrence is escalating – in the EU, in Germany and in Thuringia. We stand against all this.
THE PAYMENT CARD PATRONISES.
The 'Bezahlkarte' (payment card) prevents asylum seekers from freely accessing their own money. They are only allowed to receive €50 in cash per month. The card prevents people from paying in many shops and facilities, as well as making online purchases or bank transfers. The restrictions force people into a life below the poverty line. The payment card robs people of their freedom and self-determination and discriminates against them.
Bank accounts for all instead of discriminatory payment cards!
DEPORTATIONS DESTROY LIVES.
Deportations tear people away from their families, friends and social circles. Every deportation means fear, violence, trauma and the loss of home, security and future. In the worst cases, they are deadly. Thuringia has built a deportation-detention centre and is further toughening its deportation practices.
Social participation instead of deportation!
CUTTING SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS LEADS TO POVERTY.
More and more often, people seeking protection are having all their social security benefits cut. They end up on the streets, without food or healthcare. This is cruel and a violation of human rights!
Everyone has the right to a life with dignity, good health and a warm home!
COMPULSORY WORK IS COERCION.
Asylum seekers are forced to work for 80 cents an hour and get exploited. At the same time, they are not allowed to work in a paid job or start education and training. This solidifies exclusion instead of creating future prospects.
Work permits instead of forced labour!
All of these are components of a racist system. To fight this, we need solidarity and resistance.
ASYLUM IS A HUMAN RIGHT.
Human dignity is non-negotiable.
We say NO to this policy of insecurity and exclusion!
We say YES to freedom of movement and equal rights for all. For a good and self-determined life!

We encourage you to bring headphones or small Bluetooth speakers. The translation is provided via the messenger app ‘Telegram’; you are welcome to download the app in advance.
🎤 There will be an 'open mic' at the demonstration: we encourage people with personal experience of migration to share their thoughts spontaneously.
Let's take to the streets together! Join the demo. Be loud. 📢 Show your solidarity. ✊🏼
