Education instead of deportation - right to stay for the Altun family

The Kurdish Altun family from Friedensdorf (Dautphetal) is to be deported to Turkey after two years in Germany. Yet the parents and their five children have long since made a life for themselves here: The children go to school, have friends, the father works and provides a living for the family.

What is particularly hard is that the eldest daughter Ayşe already has a contract to train as a hairdresser, another daughter is chronically ill and the youngest son is only seven months old and was born in Germany. Despite this, the family is now threatened with deportation.

The case shows: Anyone who learns, works and integrates here needs prospects - not deportation. A humane and education-oriented migration policy protects education, security and the future instead of destroying them.
