Demo against the AfD
Darmstadt
14.03.2026 10:00 UhrLuisenplatzAfD politician Anja Swars recently caused outrage with a cynical comment on Facebook about drowned refugees. Under a post about dead people, she wrote: "Bad time to travel, Kismet. Such a comment mocks the death of people and shows a frightening indifference to human suffering.
But this statement is not a slip of the tongue - it exemplifies a political attitude that lacks empathy and devalues people according to their origin or history of flight.
This attitude also shows the mindset of the AfD, including in Darmstadt: instead of seeking solutions to the challenges of our time, it focuses on division, provocation and the targeted dehumanization of people seeking protection. Those who mock deaths in the Mediterranean make it clear that human dignity has no place in this policy. However, we say clearly: human dignity is not negotiable. When people drown in the Mediterranean, it is not a punch line - it is a humanitarian catastrophe.
We oppose racism, right-wing agitation and policies that devalue people and pit them against each other. against each other. We want a city that stands for solidarity, respect and humane coexistence - not for mocking the dead and inciting hatred against people seeking protection. That is why we are calling on democratic urban society to take a stand together. Come to the protest rally against the AfD and its inhumane policies!
Where? Luisenplatz Darmstadt When? Saturday, March 14, 2026 - 10 a.m.
Let's send a clear signal together: For humanity. For solidarity. For an open city. No place for contempt for humanity - not in Darmstadt and nowhere else.
