An evening with word, sound and image colors - in an exchange about the plight in the Mediterranean and our humanity
While the blurred photographs stand for the fate of the tens of thousands of dead in the Mediterranean, which is far too little noticed and far too quickly forgotten, the poems by Flora von Herwarth and the compositions by pianist Aeham Ahmad search for the human contours - the hope and need that motivate people to flee and risk their lives. The three-dimensional work illuminates the Mediterranean as a mirror of ourselves, the consequences of colonial and isolationist policies and our togetherness as human beings on this planet.
Themed evening with concert reading: Flora von Herwarth (poems), Aeham Ahmad (piano), photography (various) Anne Hensel (prayers), SOS Mediterranee (picture presentation)
