For freedom of movement and the right to stay – Against the deportation prison in Arnstadt

Arnstadt, Bahnhof Süd

The racist policies of the state government in Thuringia are coming to a head. The payment card has been introduced in all districts, the planning of a central immigration authority to be able to deport from the initial reception center has been decided, as has the establishment of a deportation prison in Arnstadt. The first detention places will be created there at the beginning of July and will then be rapidly expanded. We want to resolutely oppose this and the entire racist state policy! People who end up in deportation prisons are neither criminals nor have committed crimes, but people who are seeking protection and want to lead a self-determined life in freedom. Reports also show that half of the detentions in deportation prisons are unlawful from the outset. Medical care and legal support are inadequate, and the lack of prospects for people in deportation prisons usually leads to severe psychological stress or exacerbates it.

We demand:

  • The deportation prison in Ichtershausen not to be put into operation

  • The closure of all deportation prisons

We are taking to the streets together on July 5 to show our solidarity with people in detention pending deportation, because migration is not a crime! We are taking to the streets for freedom of movement, the right to stay and a self-determined life for all! Alerta!
