Commemorative Action Day

CommemorActions are actions in memory of people who died or disappeared at sea on their journey to Europe.

Born out of the collaboration between the friends and families of those missing in the Mediterranean and activists who collect their testimonies and echo their demands, CommemorActions have been organized throughout Europe and Africa in recent years.

They are both commemorative events and protests that combine political messages with artistic performances.

Above all, however, they connect the grieving relatives with as many people as possible and create common platforms to make their stories and demands known. Our thoughts are with their families, our solidarity with all those who risk everything in the hope of a life in safety and freedom in the future. Demanding justice for the crimes of the state is the least we owe to the memory of the victims of the shipwrecks and their families, as well as to the survivors who have suffered unimaginable trauma.

However, it is also a crucial point in the fight for the protection of migrants and their rights. At a time when European governments are promoting discrimination, racism and exploitation, we raise our voices and demand a world of justice and solidarity.
